Natural gas, for Industrial application, is an environmentally friendly, efficient source of energy and a chemical building block that is important to industry.
Natural gas is used predominantly in the metals, chemicals, pulp and paper, petroleum refining, stone, clay and glass, plastic, and food processing industries. There are many industrial applications for natural gas including some used in commercial and domestic such as heating, cooling, and cooking. Natural gas is also used for waste treatment and incineration, metals preheating (particularly for iron and steel), drying and dehumidification, glass melting, food processing, and fuelling industrial boilers. Feedstock for the manufacturing of a number of chemicals and products is another use for Natural Gas. Other gases such as butane, ethane, and propane may be extracted from natural gas to be used as a feedstock for the production of fertilizers and pharmaceutical products.
Natural gas systems are used extensively in industry in an efficient, economical, and environmentally sound way. Industrial systems include the following:
- Direct Contact Water Heaters
- Steam Boilers
- Industrial Combined Heat and Power
- Infrared Heating Units
- Industrial Direct and Co-Firing
